Find out how easy it is to make your wedding in Southern California's loveliest neighborhood a reality! Explore the pages below to find out more.

Do I need to be a member of your church to get married there?
No. We gladly offer our services to non-members and members alike.
Do you have space available for receptions and/or rehearsal dinners?
Yes, we have a beautiful reception hall, new commercial kitchen, a spacious courtyard, and an intimate Fireside Room, all very affordably priced. Why pay more for a reception hall in a distant location, when a beautiful venue is just steps away from your ceremony?
My beliefs are not traditional. Will I have input in the wedding ceremony?
Yes, the pastor will work with you to create a ceremony that reflects who you are and what you believe.
Is premarital counseling required?
Though our pastor is available talk with individuals and couples to help them deal with particular issues before and after the wedding, pre-marital counseling is not required. It is recommended that you make an appointment with him to discuss your hopes and plans for the ceremony, but in the case of an out-of-town couple, this can be accomplished by phone and/or email.
We are a same-sex couple. Does your church believe in marriage equality?
Yes, the congregation offers its services to all couples, regardless of gender or orientation.
What if we do not have a wedding planner?
Our wedding coördinator will happily work with you to make sure your wedding and reception in our venue is complete. She is able to recommend most of the vendors you will need, including florist, photographer, caterer, and DJ.
What if we already have a wedding planner?
The church wedding coördinator frequently works with other wedding planners to make their job more pleasant and your wedding more beautiful.
Does your church offer catering services for the reception meal?
No, the church itself does not offer this service, but our wedding coördinator is able to recommend caterers to you or your planner.  See our preferred vendor page.
May we have a bar at our reception?
Yes. The Congregational Church of La Jolla does not have any policy forbidding the responsible use of alcohol at events held on our property.
Are there any hidden fees or additional charges?

No. We offer two opportunities for your wedding in our church:
  • If you are planning a reception elsewhere, your ceremony in our sanctuary is all-inclusive, including officiant (minister), church wedding coördinator, organist, and custodian (for cleanup). You are responsible for your flowers and other decorations, photographer and/or videographer, and any other musicians or vocalists you might choose.
  • If you are planning your reception in our hall, the use of the courtyard, kitchen, and Fireside Room are included in the price.
May we get dressed at the church?
Yes, our bride's room is large enough for dressing, and is adjacent to the entrance to the sanctuary.
Does the church have a parking lot?
Unfortunately, we do not. We can, however, help you identify public parking lots within a block of our venue.

  1. Our ceremony was the most beautiful and romantic ceremony I could have ever expected (and all our guests made sure to tell us they felt the same way once it was over!).
